Phenomenal insights into the people behind the American frontier from the show Into the Wild Frontier. (I’ve been watching it on Amazon.)
It’s even MORE astounding, informative and insightful when you layer in generational archetypes (birth dates in the link).
I’ve been watching the S3 E6, “Robert Rogers, Frontier Soldier.” Within minutes of this episode about his life, I knew he was the Gen-X-like archetype. (Looked it up online and confirmed, yes.)
FWIW, so many of the famous fur trapping frontiersman — the Kit Carson era — of the early 1800s were the Boomer-like archetype (born 1792–1821). The loner generation, self-immersed, seeking perfection, divine union with the God within, nature, etc.
Fascinating stuff (to me).
