Stories without words

I love ballet. Love it.

I didn’t know I loved ballet until but a few years ago when I went to see Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella at the Kennedy Center. And then I saw his rendition of Swan Lake.

OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG.

Well, raving about Matthew Bourne’s ballets is one thing. (Go see one if you have a chance!) But, really, it’s ballet as an art form about which I want to sing.

As one drawn to the written word — its beauty, its power — I love ballet all the more for its rich stories told with not a single word spoken.
