Said it before, and I’ll say it again: There is absolutely no question in my mind, whatsoever, that Elon is manipulating Twitter to the extreme in support of his perspective, machinations, and whatnot.
A Twitter user since its early days in 2007, I’ve never once had an issue with my account.
About half a year ago, I moved over to BlueSky more for news and commentary, finding the trolls on Twitter just too much. (Oh, oh, oh, it was such a lovely tool-site-platform at one time. Alas.)
Then about a month or so ago, I started using Twitter again. Most of my comments are — no surprises here — /trump is a twit, Musk is a monster, Republicans are rats, etc. Plus I wrote a piece about the legion of white babies Musk wants to make.
So, guess what happened today? My account was locked.
I got it unlocked but then was informed that my account has been FLAGGED as being one that engages in “platform manipulation,” because, per Musk-n-Crew, I have been using the site “in a manner intended to artificially amplify, suppress information, or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts people’s experience or platform manipulation defenses on X.”
Right. Prove it. Prove it, prove it, prove it. I dare you to prove it, Elon, provide data, facts, reports, etc. I effin’ dare you. You can’t, Musk, because it isn’t true, but facts matter none to those with no empathy, psychopath that you are, enjoyer of destruction, bringer of pain.
I knew “this” was coming. Not with me, per se, but the nation, the world. When Elon first bought Twitter and long before I knew he was a MAGA freak, I had one of those twighlight-y type daydreams where I saw him completely taking over the content distribution on Twitter, favoring and disfavoring accounts to his whim. That vision/image/knowing came to me back when I was an “Elon is great, Elon is smart, Elon is amazing” believer, and before I dug in and learned more about him, his buy-em-and-call-em-mine inventions and businesses, his Apartheid longings and his white-baby-making frenzy.
