God Save Mike Pence!

“God Save Mike Pence!”

Words I never thought I would hear my mind speak — and mean it. Well, at least in one sliver of life. But here I am, grateful beyond measure for the pair Pence has grown in speaking up and in calling “Mr. President,” in essence, a liar–oh, and with facts to back it up with a link to a Fox News story about the start of the war.

I mean … Pence, for crying out loud. Pence, the almost robotic, paint-by-number bland, personality-less, Mother-lovin’ VP to Trump #45. That Pence. Yeah, he called Trump out in a tweet earlier today.

Mr. President, Ukraine did not “start” this war. Russia launched an unprovoked and brutal invasion claiming hundreds of thousands of lives. The Road to Peace must be built on the Truth.🇺🇸🇺🇦

Aww, Pence even added some flag emojis. And he capitalized the same weird way Trump does with Road to Peace and Truth–neither of which are proper nouns, at least at the moment–getting that let-me-emphasize-it capitalization-treatment of which Trump is so fond. (A bit of NLP, perhaps?)

Argh, the attacks on Pence in the Twitter comment stream are … ugly. People going on and on about Ukraine provoking Russia. So intense. Are they paid Russian propagandists? (Some have to be.) Are they people so riled by the amplification of Russian propaganda that they take all this propaganda as truth, vetting it not at all? (Some have to be.) It made my whole sensory system feel on high alert reading how these people wrote to and about Pence.

When I was a kid, Russia was the enemy.

I’m a mid-life adult now. They still are.

God, bless Pence for speaking up.

He’s still a conservative-AF, no-rights-for-you, codify-DOGE-cuts-now kind of twit. He is, after all, Mike Pence.

Cult leaders gonna cult

Today was also the day the White House communications team posted on Twitter this image. Much as many an R may chuckle and find this kind of funny, and be all like, “oh, he’s not really serious,” imagine — for a moment, a mere moment — President Obama having done the same thing. The outrage would be extreme. So, before you get all giddy about your cult-leader president, think about what he’s really saying because while he is a buffoon (and many an erstwhile or ousted inner-circle person will attest he most certainly is), he’s also a narcissist. He believes he is this: a king, the best, the greatest ever … and one worthy of.a third term. The exception, he deems himself to be, to the United States Constitution and Amendment 22, ratified in 1951.
