What critter might have pooped this poop? With little pebbles in it? The original shape is somewhat mangled by rain and prodding sticks.

Lasting for 10 days or more with little decay, though the shape has mushed down a bit.
I’d like to say it’s from a toad, but I don’t see any chiton.
A friend says it’s from a deer, but how do deer get small pebbles in their digestive systems?
It’s rubbery when prodded. Strange.
I’ve looked and searched online, and I’m stumped. This is the second spotting seen on my friend’s driveway in recent weeks.
