What an odd world we live in.
I’ve been on the lookout for a second pair of a particular pair of pants I really like. I found one on Poshmark and was considering buying them.
Then I saw the listing price. The seller listed the pants at $200 marked down to $35.
My “huh?” hackles went up.
$200 for a pair of Charter Club cotton capris? I mean … it’s Charter Club. Come on. They’re maybe $30, $50 or $70, depending on various variables, but they are not — and never have been — a $200 pair of pants.
There was also another listing for the exact same color, style and size pair of pants for $20, so even her listing was a bit on the high side comparatively.
Who is she fooling? Or trying to fool? “Oooh, oooh. Come get this sale, this amazing deal.” No, sweetheart. Just be honest.
It’s rather misleading to present an item as valued at four times its actual cost, acting as though the price offered is a deal!
I don’t disagree with or have issue with her desire to list the pants at $35. The price isn’t bad, but it ain’t an 80% (or whatever it is) price reduction, which is what she presented the situation as.
What “truth” are we supposed to believe?
This say-what-you-want-who-cares stuff is getting a bit out of hand.
