Three branches

I wasn’t much of one into history in my days of mandatory and free public education. And I wasn’t particularly interested in civics either. But I do remember being bowled over when learning about the three branches of the U.S. government and their powers to check each other.

That care and intelligence I found brilliant, wonderful and something of which to be proud as a citizen, albeit a young one and not yet able to (or interested in) voting.

Three branches.
Executive.
Legislative.
Judicial.

Balanced and balancing so that none became too powerful.

That’s how our government was set up.
