Tasty salt will keep you thriving at Burning Man

Much is spoken on the importance of drinking water and staying hydrated, particularly when at Burning Man.

And that’s good advice

Getting sufficient electrolytes in ya is equally good advice. And, for that, some made- and harvested-the-old-ways salts can be quite effective.

The key thing for getting such electrolytes in you on the regular while at Burning Man? The salt needs to be TASTY! You need to want to consume it, to reach for it, to put some grains on your tongue several (or many) times a day.

For tasty, high-quality, artisanal salts, I cannot recommend highly enough the French gray salt (or sel gris) found at The Meadow in Oregon. Their salumani salt is off the hook in the taste department! It has more herbs and spices mixed in, and isn’t ‘just’ salt the way the French gray salt is, but, oh, is it yummy. Like, yummy, yummy, yummy.

Their prices are a bit higher than what you might be used to paying for salt, but, oh, how it’s worth it for helping you stay hydrated with a good balance of electrolytes, too.

Wherever you get your salt, make sure it’s super tasty to you and not stripped of its trace elements the way many salts are processed. And make sure to bring some little packets of it you can carry it with you at all times.

Hungry? Have some salt.
Thirsty? Have some salt.
Tired? Have some salt.
Irritable? Have some salt.
Overheated? Have some salt.

Et cetera.
