Pressure

I know I’m not the only one: hours before leaving for a trip, for vacation, for whatever, I’m all caught up projects that are suddenly urgent.

Late last night I was (re)organizing my notecards by category: general hello, thank you, birthday, wedding, sympathy, new baby etc.

Today I was dusting. (I hardly ever dust!) But you know: the pressure … leaving town … gotta get the place all spic and span for my return. It’s a part of why I love trips: this rush to DO all these t-h-i-n-g-s.

Now, I’m packed for the beach, heading out in minutes and for my final act (beyond starting the dishwasher, of course) was killing a mosquito, mid air! Not that it would have anything to feast on in my absence, but still… a nice way to close the house for a few days.
