The new kid in town

There’s a new kid in town. (Well, actually, she’s retired and not a kid, but she is a new neighbor at the Columbia Gardeners Long Reach plots.) Nice, huh? She knows what she’s doing. Clearly!

She upgraded everything about her plot, including putting in a new fence all around it. Lucky me: I got a new fence along one “wall” of my garden plot, abutting hers; and as my mom and I have plots catercorner to each other, turns out my mom got a new fence “wall,” too.

Today’s mission (and why I was out at the plot for hours): Turning the winter wheat under the soil to decompose and, in doing so, add all kinds of goodies and goodness for the season ahead.
